Veramin carpets (also spelled Varamin) are traditional Persian rugs woven in and around the city of Veramin, located southeast of Tehran. These rugs are known for their fine craftsmanship, balanced designs, and deep roots in tribal and village weaving traditions, often associated with the Shahsevan and Kurdish tribes in the region.
Veramin carpets typically feature the “Mina Khani” pattern, a repeating lattice of circular floral motifs connected by diamond-shaped vines. This pattern gives the rugs a rhythmic, structured look that is both elegant and understated. Another common design includes geometric medallions and stylized animals or flowers.
They are woven with Persian (asymmetrical) knots on a cotton foundation, using high-quality wool for the pile. The color palette usually includes deep indigo, brick red, ivory, and soft earth tones, all dyed naturally.
Veramin rugs are generally medium to finely woven and come in a variety of sizes, often rectangular. They combine tribal boldness with urban refinement, making them versatile for both traditional and contemporary interiors.

NATURAL 100% WOOL
All our Persian rugs and carpets are made with 100% wool from sheep or goats belonging to pastoral nomads who inhabit the Zargos Mountain Range in Iran. The flocks are herded during the spring months to the cooler climates of the high mountain plateaus and valleys where the grass is abundant and rich in minerals. The fleeces grow thick and produce a lustrous wool, fine in texture, and when spun and using many natural dyes, have a high colour saturation.
