This rare afshar tribal carpet was woven in the Khorasan region of north west Iran. its design and construction is unique using natural dyes with fine woven borders and frets at either end. This carpet showcases a warm, earthy palette dominated by terracotta, rust, and burnt orange tones, accented with deep indigo and subtle cream highlights. The design features a series of large, repeating diamond motifs arranged in neat rows across the field. Each diamond contains intricate, layered linear patterns that create a sense of depth and movement. The spaces between the diamonds are filled with small, geometric and symbolic motifs, lending the rug a balanced and rhythmic aesthetic. The border consists of multiple bands with repeating geometric shapes, particularly triangles and stepped patterns, in contrasting dark and light tones.

EVERY DESIGN IS UNIQUE
Due to their handcrafted nature, the pattern on our Persian Rugs may show slight imperfections, which are a hallmark of traditional weaving techniques and a sign of its authenticity and craftsmanship.
NATURAL 100% WOOL OR NATURAL FIBRES
All our Persian rugs and carpets are made with 100% wool from sheep or goats belonging to pastoral nomads who inhabit the Zargos Mountain Range in Iran. The flocks are herded during the spring months to the cooler climates of the high mountain plateaus and valleys, where the grass is abundant and rich in minerals. The fleeces grow thick and produce a lustrous wool, fine in texture and when spun, using many natural dyes, which have a high colour saturation.
PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED
All our rugs and carpets are professionally cleaned before we place them on sale in our Narberth showroom.
