This beautiful Hussainabad runner showcases the bold tribal character and rich colourwork typical of the Hamadan weaving region in western Iran. The design is structured around a striking series of stepped, geometric medallions that run along the length of the piece, each one intricately filled with stylised floral motifs, symbolic elements, and charming tribal details.

The warm terracotta field contrasts beautifully with the deep midnight blue sections, creating a strong visual rhythm and a sense of depth. Small decorative motifs — rosettes, angular blossoms, hooked forms, and protective symbols — are scattered throughout the field, adding layers of texture and interest without overwhelming the clarity of the central design.

A wide, traditional border frames the runner, featuring repeating floral and geometric patterns in earthy tones of russet, ivory, indigo, and muted gold. Natural abrash in the wool gives the piece authenticity and warmth, emphasising its hand-knotted character and traditional craftsmanship.

Woven with durable wool and dyed using time-honoured techniques, this Hussainabad runner offers a perfect blend of strength, beauty, and heritage. Its long, elegant proportions make it ideal for hallways, entrances, kitchens, and living spaces in need of colour, warmth, and genuine Persian charm.

A characterful and well-balanced example of authentic Hussainabad tribal weaving.

EVERY DESIGN IS UNIQUE

Due to their handcrafted nature, the pattern on our Persian Rugs may show slight imperfections, which are a hallmark of traditional weaving techniques and a sign of its authenticity and craftsmanship.

NATURAL 100% WOOL OR NATURAL FIBRES

All our Persian rugs and carpets are made with 100% wool from sheep or goats belonging to pastoral nomads who inhabit the Zargos Mountain Range in Iran. The flocks are herded during the spring months to the cooler climates of the high mountain plateaus and valleys, where the grass is abundant and rich in minerals. The fleeces grow thick and produce a lustrous wool, fine in texture and when spun, using many natural dyes, which have a high colour saturation.

PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED

All our rugs and carpets are professionally cleaned before we place them on sale in our Narberth showroom.
