This double wefted kurdish Bijar carpet is handwoven with a thick heavy pile, and would sit well on any type of floor. It is an intreguing carpet with many attributes, and holds within its borders a weavers tale waiting to be discovered .Its arrangement of warm colours and the green heraldic medallion cunjour from ancient realms mysteries as yet unsolved.
The deep black ground is densely populated with an elaborate collection of, animals, birds, and decorative elements rendered in brilliant coral, peachy-pink, emerald green, and cream tones that create a lively narrative scene across the entire field. The figurative elements appear to depct mythological stories, showcasing the sophisticated artistry and storytelling tradition characteristic of fine Bijar weaving. Stylised trees, flowering branches, and geometric motifs fill the spaces between the figures, creating a rich tapestry of cultural symbolism and artistic expression.

NATURAL 100% WOOL OR NATURAL FIBRES
All our Persian rugs and carpets are made with 100% wool from sheep or goats belonging to pastoral nomads who inhabit the Zargos Mountain Range in Iran. The flocks are herded during the spring months to the cooler climates of the high mountain plateaus and valleys, where the grass is abundant and rich in minerals. The fleeces grow thick and produce a lustrous wool, fine in texture and when spun, using many natural dyes, which have a high colour saturation.
