This captivating Bijar carpet showcases a dramatic design featuring a striking black field that provides an extraordinary backdrop for a vibrant and enchanting array of stylised figures and motifs. The composition displays three distinctive medallions arranged vertically, with the uppermost rendered in soft sage green and golden tones, whilst the lower medallions feature warm tan and rust colours, each filled with intricate geometric patterns and traditional Persian symbols.
The deep black ground is densely populated with an elaborate collection of human figures, animals, birds, and decorative elements rendered in brilliant coral, peachy-pink, emerald green, and cream tones that create a lively narrative scene across the entire field. The figurative elements appear to depict scenes of daily life, celebration, or mythological stories, showcasing the sophisticated artistry and storytelling tradition characteristic of fine Bijar weaving. Stylised trees, flowering branches, and geometric motifs fill the spaces between the figures, creating a rich tapestry of cultural symbolism and artistic expression.
The carpet is framed by a traditional border in warm terracotta tones featuring classic Persian geometric patterns that complement the extraordinary central composition. This Bijar carpet exemplifies the exceptional craftsmanship and artistic vision of Kurdish weavers from the Bijar region, combining bold colour contrasts with intricate figurative design to create a truly remarkable piece of Persian textile art.

EVERY DESIGN IS UNIQUE
Due to their handcrafted nature, the pattern on our Persian Rugs may show slight imperfections, which are a hallmark of traditional weaving techniques and a sign of its authenticity and craftsmanship.
NATURAL 100% WOOL OR NATURAL FIBRES
All our Persian rugs and carpets are made with 100% wool from sheep or goats belonging to pastoral nomads who inhabit the Zargos Mountain Range in Iran. The flocks are herded during the spring months to the cooler climates of the high mountain plateaus and valleys, where the grass is abundant and rich in minerals. The fleeces grow thick and produce a lustrous wool, fine in texture and when spun, using many natural dyes, which have a high colour saturation.
PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED
All our rugs and carpets are professionally cleaned before we place them on sale in our Narberth showroom.
