A bold and beautifully crafted Afghan Heriz rug featuring the powerful geometric medallion design that defines this much-loved style. The central multi-layered medallion sits proudly against a rich rust-red ground, framed with striking cobalt blue, soft teal, ivory and earthy terracotta tones. Angular floral motifs, stylised leaves and traditional Heriz elements are scattered across the field, giving the rug wonderful movement and visual interest.
The dramatic stepped corners and strong ivory spandrels add contrast, while the deep blue border is richly decorated with floral and vine motifs, grounding the piece and giving it a refined, balanced finish. NATURAL 100% WOOL OR NATURAL FIBRES
All our Persian rugs and carpets are made with 100% wool from sheep or goats belonging to pastoral nomads who inhabit the Zargos Mountain Range in Iran. The flocks are herded during the spring months to the cooler climates of the high mountain plateaus and valleys, where the grass is abundant and rich in minerals. The fleeces grow thick and produce a lustrous wool, fine in texture and when spun, using many natural dyes, which have a high colour saturation.
